Set up in a minute
Open the app and allow camera and microphone access — both are required for video chat to work. Create a free account using your phone number or email, or continue as a guest if you want to try without signing up. Add a display name and optional photo to help others recognize you.
Start matching
Tap the match button and QuikQam will connect you with another user who is also ready to chat. When the connection is made, you will see each other live through your front camera. You can end the call anytime and get matched again immediately — there is no limit to how many times you can match in a session.
What happens when you match?
When you tap to find a match, QuikQam searches for another user who is also actively looking. The average wait time depends on how many people are online, but is typically just a few seconds. You will see a brief connecting screen, and then the live video will appear automatically.
During the call, you can mute your microphone or turn off your camera at any time using the on-screen controls. You can also send a text message within the call if you prefer. If something feels off, tap the report icon — this does not interrupt the call for the other person and sends a report directly to our moderation team.
When you end the call — either by tapping the button or if the other user leaves — you are returned to the home screen instantly. From there you can tap to match again, check your coin balance, or visit your profile. There is no cooldown between matches.
Tips for a great experience
- Use headphones for clearer audio and less echo, especially in noisy environments.
- Good lighting facing you makes video much better for the person on the other side.
- If someone breaks the rules, use the in-app report button during the call — we review all reports.
- A stable Wi-Fi connection gives you the best video quality; mobile data works but may vary.
- You can update your profile and privacy settings from the menu at any time.
